Unicorn Deer found in Italy
June 15th 2008 by Mark Singleton in Wild AnimalsA deer has just been found in a nature preserve in Italy which has a single horn in the center of its head, much like the mythical Unicorn. It is believed to be a very rare genetic flaw, as this deers twin has two horns. What is very unusual about this deer is the positioning of its horn, which is in the very center of its head.
In the past, the ‘Unicorn’, a horse like creature with a single horn, has appeared in stories and legends throughout history and was believed to have magical healing powers.
Since the finding, visitors have been flooding in to the nature preserve hoping to see and photograph the deer. This amazing photo was provided by the Center of Natural Sciences in Prato, Italy.
